Joanna Michelson

Joanna Michelson is the Managing Director of Product Management at EdReports. In this role, she leads product management and provides hands-on leadership to the Review Design Innovation team in service of EdReports’ mission. Joanna began her career as a sixth-grade teacher in the New York City Public Schools. After moving to the Pacific Northwest, she taught middle school language arts and served as a district-level literacy coach. Prior to joining EdReports, Joanna spent more than 12 years providing equity-driven, instructionally focused professional learning and coaching to education leaders nationwide through the Center for Educational Leadership (CEL) at the University of Washington. Most recently, she led CEL’s field-facing team and oversaw the design and delivery of its services. Joanna earned a B.A. in Comparative Literature from Brown University, an M.S. in Education from Brooklyn College, and a Ph.D. in Education Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Washington. In her free time, Joanna enjoys traveling, running, biking, hiking, and exploring the mountains with friends and family.
