Dr. Shontoria Walker is an Adoption & Innovation Lead at EdReports, developing partnerships with states, districts, and nonprofits across the country to ensure students have access to high-quality instructional materials. Prior to this role, Dr. Walker served as a Campus Instructional Specialist, District Instructional Coach, and 8th grade English teacher as a proud native of Houston, Texas. She has also served on the Texas Teacher Advisory Board and as a Senior Policy Fellow with Teach Plus Texas, advocating for educational policy laws that directly impact the classroom and beyond. Her writing has been featured in national publications highlighting her passion and commitment to an equitable education for all. As a lifelong learner, Dr. Walker holds a B.S. in Human Development and Family Sciences from The University of Texas at Austin, a M.A.T. in English Language Arts from Relay Graduate School of Education, and an Ed.D. in Professional Leadership with an emphasis in Literacy from the University of Houston. She enjoys spending quality time with her family when she is not reading or writing as her favorite pastime.
